Real World Experience

"People learn in many different ways, but experience is the best teacher."

C.A.I.'s Defense Programs are practical and teach how to prevent, deal with and overcome all kinds of violence and attacks. Techniques focus on training combatants in conditions approximating real-life scenarios. It prepares the trainees in self-defense, fighting and combat skills, as well as skills to defend others, all in unique and comprehensive teachings and way. We teach realistic fighting and self-defense-attacks in social and daily settings (pubs, street, park, car, toilet, mass transit, house, bus and simulated airliner).

No matter how often you train in approximating real-life scenarios, it's a very good way to train, but it is not real life and nothing is better than real experience.

C.A.I. Students; at a minimum:

-C.A.I. Professional Students with instructors observing, assist and work security in bars, live house events and similar type activities.
If it's a non-incidental night, we sometimes may use "plants"- people the students don't know working with C.A.I. that may try to sneak pass the door cover charge, "forget" to pay the bill or to cause a verbal dispute.

-C.A.I. professional students will participate in security analysis and event preparation, and bodyguard or executive protection.

-C.A.I. Professional Students practice Private Investigations. Students with instructors will visit large stores and visit the Loss Prevention video circuit room and watch or participate in day to day activities. We will also "tail" people solo and with teams via two-way radio.
Students learn to do and do background checks and more.

- C.A.I. unexperienced professional students will view traumatic photographs and videos, but actual experience is the best teacher. Students will visit a hospital emergency room or participate in "ride alongs" on an Ambulance and or Police if at all possible, to help acclimate them to the realities of violence.

- C.A.I. Professional Students will be required to promote, organize, obtain sports insurance, demonstrate and teach at least one seminar and at least one regular class for no less than a month.

NOTE: The Professional Student certification process is progressive. For an example; if the student is able to complete all of the training, tests, interviews and the job experience satisfactorily, he will be certified in "that" program. If a students lacks any of the requirements, he will NOT be certified until ALL requirements are met. Usually the on-the-job experience is the hold up in some cases. A student may wish to only be certified in one or two programs.
Of course these outlines apply to the Professional course students only.
Not civilians taking a self-defense course or seminar, nor already a Professional just enhancing their training.

C.A.I. has friends and associates that own, have connections or can help us in participating in Bar and club events and other real world experience. ( Shizuoka, Hamamatsu and Tokyo area).
